SPONSORING WREATHS AT BARRANCAS NATIONAL CEMETERY

Barrancas National Cemetery has over 50,000 graves. Last year only about 29,500 wreaths were sponsored. We look forward to the day when every grave has a wreath. We welcome orders of all sizes.
Most people sponsor one or more wreaths without a specific grave placement. These are used for mass placements in both the new and old sections of the cemetery, ensuring that no grave is forgotten.
If you request it, we will place a wreath on a specific grave at Barrancas for you. Last year over 2,200 specific grave placements were honored. Please provide us with the veteran’s full name and the gravesite Section, Row and Number on your order form. Use the Gravesite Locator button above to check on your loved one’s location information. You can request specific placements for multiple graves with the same order. Due to limited volunteer availability we will no longer take and send pictures of the wreaths on the graves.

If you would prefer to place the wreath or wreaths yourself, please indicate that on your order, or we will place them. Include an email address so we can send you directions for wreath pickup in December.

Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon Raises Over $132,000 for Studer Family Children’s Hospital

Cat Country98.7 and Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, a proud member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, raised more than $132,763 during the station’s Cat Country Cares For Kids Radiothon, presented by Wind Creek Atmore. The annual event at Cordova Mall raised funds for a new neonatal transport vehicle.

Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon was hosted by Cat Country 98.7 and WEAR ABC 3 News Pensacola host Sue Straughn as well as NewsRadio 92.3 & ESPN Pensacola.

The event provided listeners with the opportunity to hear from children and their parents about the high-quality care and recovery they received at Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, which serves the Gulf Coast. Funds raised during the one-day broadcast completed the campaign to purchase a new Neonatal Transport Vehicle for Studer Family Children’s Hospital. This vehicle is equipped with a specialized incubator capable of delivering a level of quality care comparable to what a child would receive inside our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Morning show co-host Brent Lane said, “The Neonatal Transport Unit is vital to our community. To accomplish the goal of paying off the transport unit is such a blessing. The NICU at the Studer Family Children’s Hospital is a standout for care in the Southeast. Cat Country 98.7
was proud to join Channel 3, NewsRadio 92.3, and ESPN Pensacola to help tell the story of why this hospital impacts so many lives and how it continues to make this community better.”

Co-host Mel McCrae adds, “It’s an honor to play a small part in helping to raise funds for this equipment that will help so many families in our community. It’s always remarkable to see the outpouring of love and support from so many businesses and individuals each year.”
“We are grateful for the dedication and support of our media partners, volunteers, and Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation team members,” said Adrienne Maygarden, president of Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation. “And, we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community who embrace our mission and join us in ensuring the highest level of neonatal care is available to local families throughout the communities we serve – keeping families close to home and their support systems.” Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, such as Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, are on the frontlines when it comes to protecting the health of future generations, but they can’t do it alone. Changing the health of even one child or family creates a ripple effect felt by communities for years to come. “The COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on children has demonstrated the value of having a hospital dedicated to pediatrics,” said Will Condon, president of Studer Family Children’s Hospital. “The disease has hospitalized children at all ages — from two weeks old to 17 years old. It’s never been more important to have specialized pediatric care in our region, and never more important to have the community’s support for our healing Mission.”

Since 1983, CMN Hospitals has raised more than $7 billion in unrestricted funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. About the Studer Family Children’s Hospital The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart serves as the only children’s hospital in Northwest Florida. The Children’s Hospital offers a wide range of children’s medical care, from a pediatric emergency room and neonatal intensive care unit to a medical staff of more than 120 board-certified physicians across 30 pediatric specialties. The Children’s Hospital provides quality, compassionate care to children, regardless of their parents’ ability to pay.
