Brent Lane is an award-winning Pensacola radio personality and co-host of the Cat Pak Morning Show on Cat Country 98.7. Since arriving in Pensacola in 2005, Brent has helped listeners begin their weekdays with country music, local stories, community conversations and plenty of fun.

A Nationally Recognized Radio Personality
Brent’s work on the Cat Pak Morning Show has earned recognition from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
Brent and his morning-show partners have been named ACM Radio Personality of the Year three times—in 2009, 2019 and 2025. Brent was also honored as the 2022 CMA Radio Personality of the Year.
These awards recognize more than broadcasting excellence. They reflect the Cat Pak’s commitment to creating a local morning show built around the people, places and stories of Northwest Florida.
In December 2025, Brent also had the honor of serving as a guest announcer at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Serving Pensacola and Northwest Florida
Brent believes that the best local radio does more than entertain—it serves its community.
Throughout his career in Pensacola, he has used the Cat Country 98.7 microphone to support local nonprofit organizations, military families, children, food assistance programs and people facing difficult circumstances.
Brent’s community involvement has included:
- Serving on the Manna Food Pantries Board of Directors, including a term as board president
- Helping lead the Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon
- Hosting Rally on the Runway in support of local children and families
- Leading thousands of participants at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
- Supporting United Way of West Florida’s Christmas Wishes program
- Hosting and promoting numerous charitable events throughout Northwest Florida
Brent has also served in leadership roles with Visit Pensacola and has appeared in more than 30 tourism videos promoting the Pensacola area. His work has helped introduce visitors to the beaches, attractions, history and people that make the Gulf Coast special.
Among his most memorable local assignments was serving as a master of ceremonies during the visit of the King and Queen of Spain to Pensacola.
Beyond the Microphone
Brent is a graduate of the 2009 Leadership Pensacola class and continues to encourage and support emerging community leaders.
He and his wife, Angela, have three children, all of whom have worked at the radio station in some capacity. Away from the studio, Brent enjoys photography, diving, spending time on the Blackwater River and exploring the Gulf Coast.
For Brent, Pensacola is more than the city where he works. It is home—and the people who listen each morning are part of the extended Cat Country family.
