Blake Shelton Releases “Came Here To Forget” Video

Posted on: March 30th, 2016 by Mel McCrae

Blake Shelton’s “Came Here to Forget” video isn’t action-packed, but there’s plenty happening between Blake and his young love interest.

Blake isn’t the one dancing. Instead his bikini-clad lover is letting loose inside an open-air bar one steamy, tropic afternoon. There’s nothing physical between the two, only a little conversation, some laughter and heavy flirting. “Came Here to Forget” is Shelton’s first single from his new ‘If I’m Honest’ album, out May 20.

Blake Shelton Sues Over Tabloid Rumors

Posted on: March 18th, 2016 by Mel McCrae

In a declaration filed this week in relation to his lawsuit against In Touch, Blake Shelton denies a number of claims made by the tabloid, including that he peed on a mailbox. He also asserts that he never touches vodka before 11 o’clock in the morning.

Blake’s declaration reads: “I do not … drink vodka before 11 a.m. I am never drunk, intoxicated, or unable to perform my job on The Voice or elsewhere. I do not slur my words or stumble when I drink. I have never urinated on a mailbox in public, or otherwise.” Blake also denied that his drinking destroyed his marriage to Miranda Lambert, noting, “During our marriage, Ms. Lambert never begged, demanded, or asked me to go to rehab.”

In his declaration, Blake admits that he jokes about drinking, saying, “Drinking or comments about drinking is part of my shtick with my fans.” Blake slapped In Touch publisher Bauer Publishing Company with a $2 million lawsuit in October over the tabloid’s claims that he was heading to rehab after hitting “rock bottom.”

Blake Shelton Announces Album Release Date

Posted on: March 8th, 2016 by Mel McCrae

The new song Blake Shelton released today, “Came Here To Forget,” immediately raced to the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ Country Chart. It’s the first song sent to radio from his forthcoming 12th studio album which will be called, ‘If I’m Honest’, and will be released May 20. “This is the most excited I’ve been about a new album since the release of my second record,” he said in a press release

While it may seem biographical given what’s happened in Blake’s personal life over the last year, “Came Here To Forget” was written by Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan, and is an intimate snapshot of a random couple’s encounter at a bar. Still, Blake says he connects with it on a personal level. “I’ve had a lot of music over the years but, I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life.”

As he finishes his winter tour, Blake is coaching talent on the 10th season of NBC’s hit show, ‘The Voice.’

Listen: Blake Shelton Releases “Came Here To Forget”

Posted on: March 8th, 2016 by Mel McCrae

Blake Shelton released a new song from a new album today. “Came Here To Forget” shoots straight from the get-go about where Blake was after he split from Miranda Lambert and took interest in Gwen Stefani.

“Girl you gettin’ over him, and I’m gettin’ over her,” he sings at the start. Blake didn’t write the song but the pair who did, Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan, have written several Blake songs and know him well. Given what he’s said about the personal nature of his new album one can accept the story told as truth.

It’s defiantly one of his most expressive songs in the last several years.

The song will be on his next album that’s due out late spring/early summer.
