CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

The specific rules for this Contest written below are in addition to “Cat Country 98.7 General Contest Rules” dated 2/11/21. If there is a conflict in language, these specific rules will govern.

Contest Name: ‘Purrfect Mother’s Day Contest” (the “Contest”)
Station(s): CAT COUNTRY 98.7 – WYCT(FM), PENSACOLA (the “Stations(s)”)

  1. Description of Contest/Promotion.
    DATES OF CONTEST: The Contest will begin 4/30/25 and end on 5/09/25. The Contest dates may be extended at the sole discretion of Station management.
    B. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of participants.
    C. HOW TO ENTER
    Register to Win. Register online at catcountry987.com. Registration must be completed in its entirety. 
    D. HOW TO PLAY
    Enter online at catcountry987.com. Upload a picture of a favorite mom. There will be a random drawing from all registrations collected by Cat Country 98.7 will randomly be chosen to win the grand prize package. If a winner cannot be contacted within one (1) business day an alternate name will be chosen until a winner is identified.
    E. ELIGIBILITY
    This is a local contest sponsored by Cat Country 98.7, and it has no connection to any other organization. The Contest is open to all Cat Country 98.7 listeners at least 21 years old. Winners can win a prize no more than one (1) time each thirty (30) days. Participants and winner(s) must be U.S. residents and at least 21 years old as determined by the Company and reside in the stations terrestrial broadcast signal. Only one (1) entry per person. Only one (1) prize allowed per household for each Contest in every thirty (30) days during contest window. Employees of the Company, the Contest’s participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, employees of other radio or television stations, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as in-laws, or by current or past marriages, re-marriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related. Any prizes not awarded due to ineligibility of contestant are returned to the Station for reuse.
    F. PRIZES
    The Prize(s) that may be awarded to eligible winners (qualifiers/grand prize) are as follows:
    $100 in gift cards from Fannie Lou’s Ice Cream, 

    $100 gift certificate to The Boot Store on Pine Forest Road,

    A Full Body Detox from Trinity Wellness Medical Spa worth over $500,

    $100 in automotive service from Tire Trust

    $100 Gift Basket from Chick-Fil-A full of Goodies and Gift Cards

    and $100 in sweets from Chrisoula’s Cheesecake.  All prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. To claim a prize, winner must come to the Station’s business office 7251 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida during the hours of 8:15 am to 5:45 pm Monday through Friday, within 30 days after winning, and provide government-issued photo ID that Station will copy. Winner must complete the eligibility forms, Station waiver and release forms, and IRS W-9 form.

Brent and Mel win ACM Award

ACM WinnersElla Langley called The Cat Pak Morning Show this morning to announce that for their work in 2024 in the Pensacola community and on the air, Brent and Mel were named ACM Personalities of the Year.

NASHVILLE, TN (April 17, 2025) – The Academy of Country Music® revealed today the winners of the ACM Radio Awards for the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards™, taking place Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, TX and streaming exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video. The announcement was made with the help of this year’s top nominee at the ACM Awards with eight nominations, Ella Langley, who called the radio on-air personalities and radio stations to surprise them with the exciting news of their ACM Award win.

 

Winners announced include multiple first-time honorees. In the On-Air categories, first-time winners include: Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase of Crook & Chase Countdown for National Weekly On-Air Personality of the Year, Josh Holleman, Rachael Hunter, and Steve Grunwald of Josh, Rachael and Grunwald In The Morning for Major Market On-Air Personality of the Year, Joey Tack and Nancy Barger of Joey & Nancy for Medium Market On-Air Personality of the Year, and Mel McCrae of The Cat Pak Morning Show for Small Market On-Air Personality of the Year. Big D and Bubba both receive their fourth win for Big D & Bubba for National Daily On-Air Personality of the Year, Big Dave receives his fourth win and Stattman receives his third win for The Big Dave Show for Large Market On-Air Personality of the Year, and Brent Lane receives his third win for The Cat Pak Morning Show for Small Market On-Air Personality of the Year.

 

In the Radio Station categories, KYGO in Denver, CO took home its second win for Major Market Radio Station of the Year,WQDR in Raleigh, NC took home its fourth win for Large Market Radio Station of the Year, WIVK in Knoxville, TN took home its ninth win for Medium Market Radio Station of the Year, and WXBQ in Bristol, VA took home its second win for Small Market Radio Station of the Year.

Established in 1966, the Academy of Country Music Awards is the longest-running Country Music awards show and made history in 2022 as the first major awards ceremony to exclusively livestream, in partnership with Prime Video. This year’s show marks its return to Texas for the third consecutive year.

Cat Country 98.7 wins Service To America Award 2025

WYCT – CAT COUNTRY 98.8 WINS SERVICE TO AMERICA AWARD

WYCT – Cat Country 98.7, Pensacola’s locally owned and operated radio station, has been awarded the prestigious Service to America Award presented by the National Association of Broadcasters’ Leadership Foundation for 2024- 2025.

This win was specifically selected due to Cat County’s efforts participating in the Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.  This annual event’s proceeds contributed to the funding for the hospital’s ‘Angel Eye’ program, which provided equipment for each patient’s bed to stay connected with parents and loved ones. 

This is the fourth time WYCT – Cat Country 98.7 has received this award and will be presented at the National Association of Broadcasters’ 2025 Celebration of Service to America gala this coming June in Washington, D.C.
