Pensacola’s locally-owned country radio station, CatCountry 98.7, has been awarded as the Radio Station of the Year at Country Radio Seminar (CRS). The special industry recognition is voted on by broadcast professionals and country music industry professionals. This was CatCountry 98.7’s first win after being a multi-year nominee.
Brent Lane, Program Director of Cat Country 98.7, said “I am super proud of our team today! Thanks to our radio and country music colleagues who saw fit to cast a vote for the Cat! We are proud represent Pensacola, but we are also proud to represent the Country Music community on the Gulf Coast.”

BACKGROUND ON HOW FUNDS ARE USED:
United Way of West Florida will administer the funds. The money will support recovery efforts for those who were impacted by Hurricane Sally, including assistance to households, building supplies and materials, and support for underinsured and uninsured individuals. Funds will remain in the community to support recovery efforts.
United Way of West Florida is here before, during, and after disasters. While there is much work to be done in helping our community recover, your gift of money or time helps families get back in their homes and give our vulnerable community members the care they need. UWWF works with local organizations to thoughtfully build strategies to create resilient communities.
The most immediate and useful way to support recovery efforts in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties is through financial assistance. This allows relief organizations to purchase and provide the supplies and resources most needed. To donate to UWWF’s Hurricane Relief Fund, text 850RELIEF to 41444.
You can also support recovery efforts through volunteerism. We have combined our efforts with Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE) to coordinate volunteers for the impacted areas. If you would like to support those affected by Hurricane Sally, please create a profile through the UWWF online volunteer portal, GET CONNECTED. BRACE will recruit volunteers by using this platform.
If you or someone you know need assistance, our information and referral hotline, 211 Northwest Florida, is available 24/7 identifying or accessing any support services in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties needed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sally. To access this completely free service, simply dial 211 from any landline or cellphone.
Please be patient when calling for resources, as the hotline has been inundated by calls.

While we never expect something like this to happen in our community, our Baptist Health Care teams train continuously to respond, rendering exceptional care.
