Manna Food Pantries

Posted on: January 1st, 2020 by brent

Our Mission: To offer emergency food assistance, service the food-related needs of vulnerable populations, and engage the entire community in the fight against hunger.

Through strategic partnerships and innovative programs, Manna fills a number of gaps in services to children and the elderly in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Senior hunger is a nationwide problem and is prevalent in our area. Every month thousands of senior citizens choose to pay bills, buy medication or buy food. At the same time, many of the thousands of children in our area who receive free or reduced meals at school have no access to food on the weekends. A hungry child cannot learn and grow.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Posted on: December 30th, 2019 by brent

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and children. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

MISSION

Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

VISION

All youth achieve their full potential.

BEING A BIG BROTHER OR BIG SISTER IS ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE THINGS YOU’LL EVER DO.
