# Pensacola’s Cat Country 98.7 Finalist for a Marconi Award

## Pensacola’s locally owned WYCT-FM is one of five stations nationwide nominated for Medium Market Station of the Year

**PENSACOLA, Fla.** — WYCT-FM Cat Country 98.7 has been named a finalist for the 2026 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Award for Medium Market Station of the Year.

Cat Country 98.7 is one of only five radio stations nationwide selected as finalists in the category. The other nominees are WBTJ-FM in Richmond, Virginia; WHBC-AM in Canton, Ohio; WMFS-FM in Memphis, Tennessee; and WPOR-FM in Portland, Maine.

The recognition marks the second consecutive year Cat Country 98.7 has been nominated for the NAB Marconi Radio Award for Medium Market Station of the Year. WYCT-FM was also a finalist in the category in 2025.

The National Association of Broadcasters announced the 2026 finalists on July 28 during a livestream hosted by Toby Knapp and Chilli Amar of “Toby + Chilli in the Morning” on WASH-FM in Washington, D.C.

Established in 1989 and named for inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards recognize excellence in radio by honoring outstanding stations, on-air personalities, podcasts and industry leaders.

Known throughout the broadcasting industry as “radio’s biggest night,” the annual Marconi Awards bring together radio professionals from across the country to celebrate the year’s most outstanding achievements in broadcasting.

The 2026 winners will be announced Tuesday, October 20, during the NAB Marconi Radio Awards dinner at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The event, presented with support from Xperi, will take place the evening before NAB Show New York begins at the Javits Center.
